Urban Designer | Urban Planner | Policy Researcher

I am an urban designer, planner, and architect working at the intersection of spatial equity, access, and design. My work challenge conventional spatial norms and advocate for inclusive, community-driven urban interventions.

I have focus on inclusive, implementable design strategies informed by participatory engagement, critical research, and policy. My projects include design child-friendly interventions in neighorhoods through tactical urbanism, community-participatory research and low-cost spatial interventions, while also engaging with long-range planning through guidelines and policy-driven design. My current work detangles public policy research and waste management equity in Oakland, supporting community-centric planning processes through participatory action research.

My independent study at UC Berkeley explored the redesign of the iconic Civic Plaza in San Francisco’s Civic Center, examining how formal spatial constructs can reinforce exclusion and how design can be used to disrupt spatial order and create more inclusive public spaces. This research also engaged historical urban areas through the lens of water equity, exploring how infrastructure, culture, and urban form intersect.

My published scholarly work has examined the culture of play, coastal tourism, water urbanism within the multiple facets of the metropolis. In 2021, I received a research grant to study the water tanks of a historic port town in Greater Mumbai, analyzing land–water management conflicts. Overall, my work emphasizes gendered urban experiences and community-driven transformations across the Global South, with projects and research spanning India, Milan, and the United States.
